National History Day

Guide to help area students find resources in DeWitt Library for their National History Day projects.

Reference Databases

We have 2 great electronic databases of encyclopedias; they are listed below.

To save these articles, we recommend using the email tools in each database and sending the content to yourself.  Be sure to include the full-text of the content, as links will not work when you're off-campus.  It may be worth testing and trying while you're here.

Gale eBooks

A searchable collection of ebooks, most of which are encyclopedias and other reference materials. Great for background information on a topic.

Print & Electronic Encyclopedias

Our print reference collection is located on the first floor of the library.  Most history books are located in the D and E classification.  We've listed a few below, but many more are available.  We're here to help you find ones that work.

Print reference books cannot be checked out. We recommend you scan in your articles using one of our scanners, located on the first floor as well. This is free and easy to do.
