You may be asked to assess books on historical events, and one way to do so is by reading published book reviews. Many journals publish reviews when books are released. Here are some tips for finding reviews:
In databases, look for options to limit your search to book reviews. These are often found under the Advanced Search option.
If you do not see an option for reviews, trying searching for the title of your book in quotes, then adding book review: "Lincoln at Gettysburg" book review
A source of reviews for academic books, including many books about history. In Choice, search for the terms in your book title. Using the Advanced Search will allow you to further define your search parameters, including subject areas searched. To select multiple disciplines, simply hold down the CTRL key while clicking on the discipline names.
