Unbroken by Call Number: D805.J3 Z364 2010Publication Date: 2010-11-16On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared--Lt. Louis Zamperini. Captured by the Japanese and driven to the limits of endurance, Zamperini would answer desperation with ingenuity; suffering with hope, resolve, and humor.
Captain Ralph Mouw
Ralph Mouw (1919-2009) spent a little over two years in training in the United States and was commissioned as an Artillery Officer. In 1942, he deployed to England to prepare for the D-day invasion. Mouw came ashore on Utah Beach, Normandy, France and spent 140 straight days in combat status.
