DeWitt Library uses the Library of Congress Classification system.  Books on American history are located in the following sections:

• E11 - E904: Works on American and United States history, including Native American history
• F1 - F975:  Works on the local history of the U.S. (regions, states, localities)
• F616 - F630: Works on Iowa
• PS1 - PS3576:  Works of American literature, including diaries, letters, memoirs and the like

All these sections are located on the 2nd floor of the DeWitt Learning Commons.
