Not Peer-Reviewed Sources

The following websites could be useful for preliminary research. They are not peer-reviewed which means other scholars from that same field have not read them before publication. As a result, they are not considered to be scholarly sources because they have not been officially vetted by other academicians. However, these websites can be useful in helping a student organize thoughts and many provide links to other scholarly works. A few offer brief podcasts.

  • Biologos is a website dedicated to "approaching hard conversations."  The organization's mission is to "invite the church and the world to see the harmony between science and biblical faith."
  • Answers in Genesis is a website dedicated to "apologetics ministry." They "focus on providing answers to questions about the Bible—particularly the book of Genesis—regarding key issues such as creation, evolution, science, and the age of the earth."
  • Reasonable Faith is a website aiming "to provide an intelligent, articulate, and uncompromising yet gracious Christian perspective on the issues concerning the truth of Christian faith." Many authors submitting articles are written by academic scholars.
  • Reasons to Believe exists to demonstrate "that sound reason and scientific research" can support Scripture.
  • Patheos is dedicated in bringing "together faith communities, academics, and the broader public into a single environment."
  • Stand to Reason mission is to train "Christians to think more clearly about their faith and to make an even-handed, incisive, yet gracious defense for classical Christianity and classical Christian values in the public square."
