Google Web Search

You can improve the results you get using Google with a few tips:

  • Use the Advanced Search rather than just the basic.  It's easier to control how you want to search (for a phrase, for individual words, etc.).
  • Advanced Search also allows you to limit your search to domains like .edu, .gov, or .org; you limit the number of commercial, for-profit sites using this trick.
  • You can also limit your search to a certain site such as The Wall Street Journal or The New York Times.  For example, to limit a search on Bank of America to The Wall Street Journal, enter "bank of america site:wsj.com" in the search box.
